UniBoys works with students who are under-achieving and provides a positive space for exploring personal development. You can expect university to be introduced as a concept and role models to be in ready supply – our current students will be on hand to develop relationships, share stories and embed skills. Research tells us that there is a need to narrow the gap between the number of female and male students studying at university and that boys specifically are at risk of having a lack of knowledge and skills related to higher education. We are here to help change that.
There are multiple strands of activity that your students will take part in:
Your students will develop teamworking skills and leave knowing the importance of and skills needed to set targets for lots of areas of life. The idea is that they’ll be able to work more effectively with classmates and teachers, dream big for their futures and be able to chat with their parents and carers about their experiences.
How can I book places?
Teachers can book multiple places at once for their students. Chat to your Outreach Officer to secure your places, or get in touch with our friendly team.
How many students can take part?
UniBoys is intentionally small to enable a certain way of working across the activities – there are 25 places in total, with 5 schools bringing 5 students each.
