Skills Discovery happens in 3 parts:
You can expect your students to feel more confident, proud of their achievements, and eager to put their skills to use again in a different setting. We’ll unleash their creativity when we ask them to work in teams to develop, design and brand a new university and develop their skills with a pitch-style presentation about their ideas. They’ll be led by UEA staff and supported by current UEA students throughout the activities, with plenty of chances to ask lots of questions.
Who signs up?
Teachers can book multiple places at once. Skills Discovery is booked alongside other pre-16 activities via our 2024-25 on-campus booking form. We’ll be in touch when the booking form opens with all the details – you’ll have the opportunity to rank activities you’d like to attend.
How many students can take part?
There are 90 places – 6 schools will bring 15 students each.
We know that choosing which students to bring to these experiences can be hard. We’d love to work with your students who would get the most benefit from the day – we’re always happy to chat about which students would get the most out of taking part in our activity, so just ask if you’re not sure.
Do students have to take part in all three parts?
Yes. By signing up to take part in Skills Discovery you are committing to facilitating the two in–school workshops and attending the on-campus day.
