Preparing for Pharmacy

Preparing For Pharmacy, part of Preparing For, gives students the chance to enter a world beyond prescriptions. From the design and manufacture of medicine to patient care, the insights that these activities will illuminate for future pharmacists are unmissable. They’ll also brush up on their interview skills and will receive expert mentoring. On top of all that, we’ll support them to gain real-world experience of being a pharmacist.

Students need to apply for a place themselves so please pass on the info to anyone you think might be interested – we’ll let you know when applications open for our 2025 cohort. There’s lots more information for students on the UEA website so they can understand what they’ll get involved with over the 18 months of activity. In person and online activities will take place during school holidays, evenings or weekends. Some activities will be self–directed learning to be completed in student’s own time.  There’s a real mix of delivery styles throughout the 18 months to enable the widest possible engagement. 

Your students can get involved in:

• Welcome event with problem based learning scenarios
• E-mentoring from current pharmacy students
• Placement week in a pharmacy supported by on-campus activity
• Application and interview support for studying pharmacy
• Chemistry masterclass and revision support for A-levels
• Transition support for those going on to study at UEA, with access  to experienced advisers

This multi-touchpoint activity sets your students up for success for studying pharmacy. They have access to skilled and knowledge professionals and current students throughout – it’s their chance to get the support they need to make informed and confident choices about their future.
