The best news? Participants who apply to study medicine at UEA and meet the course entry requirements will get a guaranteed interview. Preparing for Medicine is an 18-month long set of activities, designed to support students throughout Year 12 (Level 3 Year 1) and Year 13 (Level 3 Year 2). Whether they’ve always dreamed of being a doctor or they’ve recently decided to study medicine, we’ll guide them through the application process, medical school interviews, a work experience placement, and the most common admissions test. It’s really an experience like no other.
Students need to apply for a place themselves, so spread the word to anyone you think might be interested. There’s lots more information for students on the UEA website. Some activities will involve self–directed learning to be completed in the student’s own time and some will be led by us. There’s a real mix of delivery styles throughout the 18 months to enable the widest possible engagement.

Applications will open in October 2025.
We deliver Preparing for Medicine in partnership with Anglia Ruskin University and the Medical Schools Council. To apply, students will need to complete an online application form via the Medical Schools Council website. The page below will include a link to the form once applications are open.
How much does it cost?
Preparing For Medicine is completely free. We will even cover travel costs for eligible students to and from in-person events.
Who submits the application?
Students should sign up themselves – but they can always ask our Outreach team for help. Bookings aren’t open yet, but details of how they apply will be on the UEA website.
Are there eligibility criteria?
Yes – we’ll update this page when the eligibility criteria for next cohort are confirmed.
