Activities take place in the Summer term and we’d love to see your students take part in all four sessions. They’ll get to take part in:
Assembly style session: In-school (10-20 mins)
An introduction to university from current UEA students who share their experiences at and journey to university.
Interactive Workshop 1: In-school (45 minutes)
Take a deep dive into the skills needed to make effective decisions and how to create plans.
UEA Campus visit: On-campus (6 hours)
University is about so much more than textbooks and studying. Visiting our campus is an opportunity for students to get a real insight into the amazing variety of activities, clubs, courses, societies and experiences that make up university life. They’ll get to take part in activities that help them decide if university will feature in their future.
Interactive workshop 2: In-school (45 minutes)
Follow up workshop to embed the skills that have been developed and focus on the next steps in terms of decision making
Who signs up?
Teachers can book multiple places at once. Pathways is booked alongside other pre-16 activities via our 2024-25 on-campus booking form. We’ll be in touch when the booking form opens with all the details – you’ll have the opportunity to rank activities you’d like to attend.
How many students can take part?
There are 180 places available – 12 schools will be offered 15 places each. As a progressive set of activities, students will benefit the most from attending all of the opportunities.
Which students should I select to take part?
Students that will most benefit from this programme are those who:
We know that choosing which students to bring to these experiences can be hard. We’d love to work with your students who would get the most benefit from the day – we’re always happy to chat about which students would get the most out of taking part in our activity, so just ask if you’re not sure.
Where do the activities take place?
3 sessions take place at your school or college, and 1 session takes place on UEA campus.
When do the activities take place?
Activities take place throughout the Summer term – there are two on campus days (schools attend just one) on 29 April and 13 May on, and the in-school wraparound activity is booked to suit your school timetable.
