Metacognition is the name of the game for Make It Count. Your students will have the opportunity to explore their preferred learning styles and practise using a range of tools with an understanding of how they can be used in all subject areas to support raising attainment in the longer term. We’d like to work with your students who show signs of limited self-awareness of their abilities or lack confidence or resilience when faced with a learning challenge.
Climate change provides the consistent context for the workshop deliveries and your students will have access to high quality resources that are accessible and inclusive for all. As a topical theme, it is hoped that your students will also feel inspired to tackle the challenge of climate change and promote positive messages within their local community.
Your students will feel more confident and have increased resilience when it comes to learning. They’ll be ready to ‘have a go’ at new and less familiar activity with a positive approach once we’ve equipped them with a set of new skills and strategies.
Students who took part in Make it Count in 2023/24 when they were in year 7 will be invited to take part in a new set of activities this year – we’ll be in touch with details about a new set of activities that focus on oracy. We’ll be in touch, but please do ask any questions in the meantime.
