Future Legal Leaders

Future Legal Leaders, part of Explore, is the perfect springboard for students in Year 12 or Level 3 Year 1 who are considering a career in law. We’ll provide a whole package of opportunities to gain valuable insight and make connections in the legal world. By supporting students to develop key skills, build a network of law professionals, and learn how to get their foot in the door within one of the most competitive careers, Future Legal Leaders helps your students get one step ahead. 

The main activity takes place across two sessions in March 2026. These first sessions are designed to help students decide whether law is for them. If they decide it is, further sessions will follow. If they decide law isn’t the right fit for them, that’s fine too – they won’t be expected to attend any further sessions.

The final programme is still being developed but the list below gives you an idea of our current thoughts based on previous years’ activities:

• Explore what being a law student involves and how to apply 
• Learn how to engage with academic legal competitions 
• Practical sessions: mock trial, negotiation, document interrogation and more! 
• Introduction to legal careers 
• Explore potential work experience opportunities 
• Networking opportunities with law professionals 

All activities are designed to ensure that students are ready to engage in the recruitment processes for law that start as soon as they begin university.
